Is, Mi-Rack dead in development?

What ever happened to the MiRack update news leak that were out about a month ago?
Are there not going to be, any more updates for, Mi-Rack?

I myself have run into yet another block in attempting to further develop my “cellQuencer” iver the last 2+ months using, Mi-Rack, which is a drag as Mi-Rack has continued repeatedly to be my fave over Drambo, 5x now, killing Drambo forever.
It is looking like VCV is going to have to be my next ‘development’ area TO bring cellQuencer out, to the public.

If it IS in development limbo, that’s a big shame. But I keep waiting for new developments, especially new modules. Annnnnnd…crickets.

I went over to miRack because there’s a lot of things about VCV that I won’t put up with. Weird internal politics, a very user-hostile developer, plus what was at the time a VERY toxic online community. And it was about as stable as Jell-o on my Windows machines, and they no habla Android, so the only viable choice for me…if I wanted to utilize a software modular, especially for live work…is miRack on an iPad specced to be capable of dealing with it.

The app seemed to be rolling along nicely when I bought into it initially. There had just been a fresh module dump, and the user community appeared to be VERY jazzed about the direction things appeared to be going where the app was concerned.

In the past year, though, there’s only been the controller update. Nothing else in the way of module expansions, and not much happening in the community. So it doesn’t surprise me that there’s talk about miRack having become “abandonware”. So, the question persists…IS it abandonware?

I recall some time back that there was talk of releasing some sort of bridging SDK that could allow VCV modules to be employed in or converted to miRack. Now, that would be a hellaciously cool thing, but…there was talk, then…well, those crickets again.

This could be a “killer app”, tbh. It’s actually EASIER to work with than VCV because the tactile control is part and parcel of it being an iOS app. VCV on a touchscreen in my experience was…well, pretty icky. It was notably sluggish when dealing with touchscreen input, and the fact that it always seemed to be poised to crash when using a touchscreen was really unpleasant.

But you didn’t dare ask Andrew Belt word #1 about that. I recall an exchange with him about multithreading back in the pre-1.x days, whether or not it was in store for VCV, and I got several paragraphs of “developer-splaining” fed back at me for even deigning to ask about the “incredible difficulty” of development and how there simply wasn’t any effort that was going to be expended on frivolous user requests, report closed, BANG!!!

It’s worth noting, I think, that VCV debuted with…yes, multithreading. It had to. What I was experiencing under the last beta was alarming, and not indicative of pro-grade capabilities. And this was also part of what I communicated to VCV, yet Belt seemed to blow the whole notion of near-inoperability off as a pointless concern by someone who clearly didn’t understand software development.

I won’t go into my resume/vita here. Except to point out that his statement was WILDLY off base on both my work with computer systems for music AND my knowledge of synthesis tech. And if you can’t communicate with the developer without the developer acting like a total ass, what would the point be in involving my time and resources on using their software?

So, miRack was the clear choice when I became aware of it. New hardware isn’t a problem if you’ve got a reason for using it, am I right? So, got the iPad, got the software, got busy with learning its trickery…but then, I noticed that I haven’t seen any new modules after a very long time during which it would’ve been nice to get some new modules.

If this app is done, please say so. But if it isn’t, please keep in mind that the question IS floating around in your user community and has been for the past few months. This might be a good time for that SDK, perhaps…?
